I’m so happy to be included in the line-up for this year’s Spirit of Folk. I’ve heard it’s such a beautiful festival – full of storytelling, healing, comedy, living history, art and of course amazing music and this year there’s even gonna be a Bug Hotel – now that’s glamping for ya!
The Lark & The Robin will feature in the Earagail Arts Festival on the 23rd July in Carndonagh, Co. Donegal.
The wonderfully intimate Inishowen event is hosted by singer/songwriter Kate O’Callaghan with Seamus Devenny. Featured special guests on this festival edition of The Lark & The Robin, joining Kate and Seamus, will include critically acclaimed Mullingar troubadour Peter Doran and Devon based Indie-folk songwriter Jess McAllister. A unique, collaborative celebration of Song and the Art of Songwriting – not to be missed!
“A ferocious emotional and musical intelligence at work” – Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music on Jess Mc Allister.
Delighted to be playing again at this awesome music and arts festival on Arranmore Island July 10th – 12th – The Mighty Swell Festival. Get your tickets now.
We had a great time playing at Vantastival in Bellurgan, Co. Louth. Highly recommend checking out this wonderful festival – great music, friendly atmosphere AND lots of camper vans….tis heaven 🙂
We had our first installment of The Lark & The Robin in the beautiful surroundings of St. Buadan’s Church, Culdaff, Inishowen on the 26th February. With special guests Declan McClafferty (from In Their Thousands), Sarah Cullen (w/Ruairi Friel) and Best Boy Grip. A truly spectacular gig in the most intimate of settings. Please visit The Lark & The Robin’s Facebook page for more information on this monthly event.
We have some lovely gigs lined up for the last month of 2014. On the 11th we will be joining the amazing talents of Robin G. Shiels, SIVE and Arborist at The Lark & The Robin in McGrorys Backroom, Culdaff . Followed by an intimate concert with SIVE at McDaids Winebar, Ramelton on the 12th and a rocking Christmas special with The Wood Burning Savages and Plain Zebra at the Greenroom Live, Letterkenny on the 19th. We are also very excited to be taking part in Songlines at The Model, Sligo on the 2oth December.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas – Kate & Seamus x
A busy Autumn ahead with my first tour of Scotland and England – including the Perthshire Amber Festival, gigs in Edinburgh (incl. Edinburgh Folk Club) and also a visit to the Carlisle Folk & Blues Club in Cumbria to support the fabulous Lucy Ward and her band on Halloween night (I wonder should I dress up as a witch, or would that give a bad first impression? hmm).
In addition, I’m delighted to be included on another Roadworks Tours series – this time opening for Carrie Rodriguez (Austin, TX) at The Workman’s Club, Dublin and the Balor Arts Centre, Donegal.
Other gigs include hosting The Lark & The Robin monthly series at McGrory’s, Culdaff. November’s guests will be two critically acclaimed singer/songwriters from Northern Ireland – Ciaran Lavery and Matt McGinn. Ciaran recently launched his 2nd EP ‘Kosher’ to great success and Matt is just about to release his next album ‘Latter Day Sinner’.
Ciaran Lavery will also be joining myself and Seamus Devenny at McDaid’s Winebar, Ramelton on the 14th November.
See all dates here.
